Welcome to an insight into a an average day in the life of Nat in Nepal 😊

Most of these videos and pics were taken towards the end of my stay, after the political uprising on 8 and 9 September, once all of my study had finished.

I've been eager to share my adventures, so please enjoy this collection of a few of my favourite Tharig moments

I'm going to start with sharing a glimpse of my happiness & heart coherance generators ...

These kids!!

Oh my goodness - they give me so much joy and laughter and love.

As I first started walking through Tharig Monastery in Kathmandu and up to the classrooms and the kids would look at me, be a bit inquisitive, but very shy.

Of course each day I'd say hello

and slowly slowly

they became cute little friends who were intrigued by this white lady coming through their home every day

and after a while their intrigue turned to cheekiness!

So much cute cheekiness!

Plus of course my boys! The senior students whom I was blessed to teach 6 days a week 💓😊each lesson they'd practice their English by having dharma discussions together. Best. Life. Moment.

Heaps more to come from these classes. I'll be creating a playlist of our classes over on the Calm Mind Academy YouTube page.

The next group of photos are from a lunch I had at the monastery.

Best thing about being part of the furniture there is you get to enjoy lunch time. One day we had a special treat and a local village sponsored lunch - which meant the kids (and adults) got ice cream!

We line up with most senior monks first, then senior students, then guests (like me) then the little ones

A week after the uprising, curfew (lockdown) has ended, the monastery I teach at (Tharig) and the one I study at (The International Buddhist Academy) got together to do an 8 hour puja to help subdue obstacles and create calm in Nepal. That week had been pretty unsettling and scary for me, seeing the things I saw and hearing the sounds I heard. I'd been folloiwng the Australian Smart Traveller advice to stay in our hotels up until this amazing occasion.

You can see I'm pretty tired, I'd been bedridden for two days with a flu, but this was worth coming out for 💓😊

Here's an experience of what it was like in this special Green Tara puja

Oh giving offerings and receiving blessings in a puja is so powerful! The puja below is a Mahakala puja and they're usually only performed once a month on Dharma Protector Day. I was unable to attend the July one as I was teaching the senior students, nor the August one as I was in retreat at another monastery. But I made it for the September one! Very very excited to be there.

To wrap up this snippet in time. Here's the younger monks doing a performance for their presentation night. I'll share more about that night in another blog.

If you're feeling inspired to see how the world of Buddhist wisdom (with a splash of neuroscience) can give you the mind shifts and new understandings about life that it has for me...
