Your nervous system is your body's control centre. It's constantly scanning your environment, processing information, and deciding whether you're safe or in danger. When it detects threat, it activates your survival responses: fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. This is meant to be temporary, to keep you safe in moments of actual danger.
But here's what most people don't realise: your nervous system can get stuck in these protective states.
When you've:

👉 spent years people-pleasing because saying no feels unsafe

This isn't happening in your mind, it's happening in your body, at a physiological level. Your nervous system is running an learned program that's trying to protect you from dangers that may no longer exist.
When your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, everything in your life is affected. Your sleep, your digestion, your immune function, your ability to feel calm, your relationships, your capacity to heal, everything.
The good news? We can rewire these patterns. Your nervous system is adaptable, and it can learn to feel safe again.
When I work with clients who are dealing with chronic anxiety, exhaustion, pain, or health issues that won't resolve no matter what they try, I often find the same pattern: their symptoms started long before they realised.

But those early nervous system patterns don't just disappear when you become an adult. They continue running in the background, creating the anxiety you can't seem to shake, the exhaustion that never lifts, the physical symptoms that doctors can't fully explain, the hypervigilance that makes relaxation feel impossible.
I know this because I've lived it.

In March 2023 an allergic reaction to medication fried my vagus nerve and my nervous system went into complete overload.
My body rejected everything, I developed MCAS and chronic nerve pain, and I had to take immunosuppressants to stop my body fighting against itself.
